Visitor and Other New Zealand Visas: How We Can Help

Visitor visas cover holidays, family visits and many short stays in New Zealand. Other temporary and special-category applications may involve extensions, changes of conditions, reconsideration requests or responses to immigration concerns.

New Zealand Visitor Visas

A standard Visitor Visa may allow eligible applicants to visit New Zealand, see family and friends, or study for a short period. Applicants generally need genuine reasons for the visit, enough funds or acceptable sponsorship, suitable travel plans and evidence that they will comply with the visa conditions.

The length and conditions of a visa depend on the application and the applicant's circumstances. Visitor visa holders cannot normally work for a New Zealand employer, although limited remote work for an overseas employer or client may be permitted under current rules.

Extensions and changes of circumstances

If you want to remain longer, you normally need to apply for another visa before the current visa expires. A change in family, employment, study or travel plans can affect which application is appropriate. Leaving decisions until the final days can create avoidable risk.

Reconsiderations and complex applications

Some applicants need help after a temporary visa has been declined. A reconsideration may be available only in specific circumstances and within a strict timeframe. Other cases may require a new application that directly addresses the reasons for decline.

How we can help

We identify the appropriate visa or response, prepare a tailored evidence checklist and review funds, sponsorship, travel history, family ties and genuine-intention evidence. We draft clear cover submissions, lodge the application and manage Immigration New Zealand correspondence.

We also advise on group visitors, guardians accompanying international students, parents visiting family, medical or character issues and transitions to another lawful visa where possible.

Do not make non-refundable travel arrangements until the required visa is approved, and seek advice promptly if your current visa is close to expiring.
